Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas is a group of American Hip hop , strongly influenced by rates/rhythms of Soul, Jazz, Funk and latino.

Biography

In 1989, the Rap fear Will.i.am and Apl.de.ap meet within the group of Breakdance Tribal Nation. They decide to found together a group of hip hop, named Atban Klann, Atban being the acronym of has Tribe Beyond has Nation . They record in 1992 under the label Ruthless Records of Eazy-E. However, the disc is not marketed.

After the death of Eazy-E in 1995 and some spectacles around Los Angeles, Will.I.Am and apl of ap decide to recruit new a MC - DJ - Danse ur, Jaime Gomez (Taboo); the group becomes Black Eyed Peas then.

The name Black Eyed Peas is that of a Légumineuse called in French “Pois with cow”, Cornille or dolic in black eye ( Vigna unguiculata unguiculata ). It is about a white Pois on which a small black circle is drawn.

With the singer Kim Hill, they leave in 1998 an album named Behind the Front , which is accommodated favorably by criticisms hip hop but which will not touch the general public. They return then with a second album in 2000 Bridging the Gap .

In 2003 leaves Elephunk , in which the singer Stacy Ferguson, alias Fergie (former singer of the group Wild Orchid and stimulating of emission for children), replaces Kim Hill. This album, which will be sold with more than 6 million specimens, is a success in particular thanks to the collaboration of many artists known as Justin Timberlake, Travis Barker (the beater of the Californian rock group Blink 182 and The Transplants), Jack Johnson and Jacoby Shaddix (the singer of the group metal Papa Roach).

The June 7th 2005, the group leaves its fourth album, Monkey Business before separating temporarily so that each member can devote himself to a career solo. In this album take part in particular Sting and James Brown.

In 2006, Fergie leaves its first album solo, The Dutchess , while will.i.am leaves the individual Beep with the Pussycat Dolls. Taboo leaves a version Duo the title Paga of Juanes; Fergie and Will.I.Am leave a recovery True of Spandau Ballet (music of the film Amour and amnesia ( 50 First Dates in English)).

Beginning 2007, the singer Will.i.am declares with the site Billboard that a New Album is in preparation. This last should leave towards the end of the year.

Black Eyed Peas gained three NRJ Music Awards: “International Album of the year” in 2005 and 2006, “Group/international duet of the year” in 2006.
