Black (river)
The river Noire is a Québécois Rivière , Affluent of the Outaouais. It flows in the Rivière of Outaouais, with the foot of the Isle-with-Matches, close to the municipality of Waltham.
A hydro-electric stopping is located close to its mouth. It belonged formerly to Pembroke Electric Light Compagny and maintaining to Hydro-Pontiac. It is about the first commercial hydro-electric stopping of Canada and date of the beginning of the century. One uses still today one of the turbines of 1918 to serve the villages of the surroundings as well as the town of Pembroke, Ontario.
