Biton Coulibaly
Biton Coulibaly , of her true name Mamary Coulibaly, born towards 1689 was a king of the Royaume will bambara of Ségou of 1712 to its death in 1755.
Mamary Coulibaly was chief of “tone”, levelling association of young hunters which he manages to transform into professional army devoted to his cause. Taking the title of Biton, it joins to the sinners Somono to whom it entrusts a fleet of war and extends the kingdom on two banks of the Fleuve Niger, between Tombouctou and Bamako.
Biton Coulibaly dies in 1755 and his/her son Dinkoro Coulibaly succeeds to him.
According to the legend, Mamari Coulibaly is the back small son of Niangolo, one of the two initiating brothers of the kingdoms will bambaras. Surprising the girl of Faro, genius of the river, flying of eggplants in its field, it leaves him the safe life. To reward it, Faro puts to him a drop of its milk in each ear, which enables him to hear the plots which are woven against him.
