BitComet

BitComet is a Client BitTorrent owner writes in C++ for Microsoft Windows.

Presentation

The Bitcomet customer is a software of file-sharing Poste at station compatible with the protocol BitTorrent. He includes functionalities advanced like the multiple and simultaneous remote loadings, the setting on standby, the selective remote loading of files, the mechanism DHT (of Mainline), the Chiffrement of the protocol, a manager of mask disc, the exchange of pars or an algorithm to communicate through the avoid-fires in UDP.

Compared with other BitTorrent customers, like Azureus writes in Java, BitComet more easily seems to have an observable advantage of performances on configurations with the resources limited in memory or power of the processor.

It is translated into 43 languages. Since version 0.85, it posts a framework of publicity by using the engine of returned Trident, but this one can be decontaminated starting from version 0.89.

Criticisms

Certain versions of BitComet were the subject of a Ostracisme because they did not comply with certain common rules of the BitTorrent customers. That seems to be an old subject, but the author remains very discrete in his communication what did not help the image of BitComet which seems sometimes a little “closed” with certain observers. It should be noted that the versions beyond 0.70 present some compatibility issues with some trackers, and that the translation is sometimes incomplete.
