Birth off America
Birth off America is a Video game of type Strategy game in turn by turn, developed by AGEOD, left on PC in 2006.
History of the development
This play is conceived like the first of a series using the same engine that the development team improves progressively. The team not finding a distributer, it has decides to create her own company of edition-distribution (AGEOD).
Synopsis
The Guerre free-Indian which belonged to the Guerre Seven Year old and is unrolled in North America, then the Guerre of American independence marked the beginning of a new era, the end of an empire and the birth of a nation. In Birth off America (Birth of America), the player controls the destiny of the one of the principal opponents in these two conflicts, and tries to reach the military and political victory.
Gameplay
It is a rather complete and detailed simulation of the two most important wars in America colonial - between 1755 and 1783 - but treated thanks to a new engine out of turn by simultaneous turn. The chart of the play is divided into more than 700 provinces, with a broad diversity of grounds, climates and levels of development. There are two camps which are opposed in each of the 15 scenarios of the play. The turns of play correspond to one month of real-time. The duration of the scenarios can vary few months at almost 9 years.
Precision of simulation
The players take primarily charges the military activity with it with their nation. That includes all the movements, but also the liftings of forces, the construction of forts and deposits, the seats and blockade, the raids on the enemy villages and the battles, as well on ground as on sea. The control of the troops is done on the level of the regiment and one can recompose them in multiple detachments. The naval units are made up of squadrons and flotillas of linerships. The players can also manage the trains of supply, the barges of transport, the fortifications and the deposits. The play offers a great diversity of the types of different units, including for example the light infantry, the dragons, the trains of seat, the rangers; Indian warriors; navy; militia; linerships, frigates and flotillas lake. All these units have various factors such as their defensive and offensive value, their moral, experiment, quality, geographic origin and type of movement. A vast panel of historical leaders is proposed and some of them have particular capacities all, such as for example the possibility of assembling ambushes or that to move quickly in the wild zones. The political aspects and human of the conflict (especially during the War of Independence) are taken into account, with the impact of the liftings of militia, or the inappropriate decisions of the Ministers for the metropolis, or the random honesty of the areas, on the long way towards the victory.
