Birmingham City LFC is an English team of female Football affiliated with Birmingham City FC. They play on the ground of The Valley Stadium, the stage of Redditch United FC.
History
The club was founded in 1968 by a group of fans female. In 1970 they off join the Heart Enlgand League where they play until 1973 when the league knows a reorganization and becomes later the West Midland Regional League one year. During this same period, Birmingham knows its more beautiful hours gaining this leagues with five recoveries in the Années 1970 and 1980.The difficulties arrive in the Années 1990 when many players and members staff leaves the club. One then decided to create a Academy for the young players who thereafter will play in the seniors.
In 1998 - 1999 Birmingham is promoted in the new league, Combination League which they gain reaching directly in the National Nothern Division , championship of the northern conference. After two seasons, Birmingham is promoted in '' First League '', plus high level of English female football.
It is at this time that the first players leave the Academy . Laura Bassett becomes the first player of Birmingham City LFC formed with the club with being selected in team of England.
At the time of the season 2004 - 2005, Birmingham has the ones of the best players of the country like Rachel Yankey and Alex Scott, which enable them to finish fourth of the championship. However the club knows financial problems and must separate from some players. At the time of the season 2005 - 2006 they finish sixth.
