Single-seat biplane of sport to unequal wings, ACE K-1 Biplane was drawn by Alexander Klemin and N.W.Dalton, obviously inspired by the German hunters of the First World War. Entirely built of wood, the prototype was constructed with ACE Flying Field , in edge of Central Park, with an engine of Ford T, quickly replaced by an engine ACE. 8 specimens were sold by Aircraft Engineering Corp with the initial price of 2500 U$; The apparatuses produced into 1920 underwent some modifications compared to the prototype: Soles of chechmates wing gap widened, fuselage modified with a completely ducted engine, folding aerofoil of reduced scale. Modifications justifying seems T a raising of prices of 500 U$. A ACE K-1 Biplane was particularly pointed out in the press of the time, C.V. Pickup being posed on Clay Street, in full center of Oakland, California, on January 22nd, 1920, for advertizing reasons.In 1954/55 L.T. Lowery restored a ACE K-1 Biplane with San Francisco. Registered, it flies regularly in the Californian sky since July 1955.
