A.M.G.E is the Worldwide association of the Guides and Girl guides (in English WAGGGS for World Association off Girl Guides and Girls Scout). It is the international organization who supervises the majority of the movements Guides.
Mission
A.M.G.E promotes the education of the young women and the young girls to a citizenship responsible while being based on the principles for scouting.
Within this framework, it offers programs and tools to various associations guides and scoutes female main roads.
It also has an advisory statute within UNO and of several of its committees.
History
Since 1912, the Guidisme had gotten a foothold in ten country and at the end of war 14-18, the need for coordinating the efforts of the various movements guides was felt. In 1919, Olave Baden-Powell, wife of the founder of the Scouting, form the World council . one year later took place the first world conference , place of exchange and division of experiment.
In 1924, a first world camp is organized and the Council publishes a newspaper: New of Our World .
After the fourth World conference, in 1926, representatives ask Lord Baden-Powell to create an association. A world Office is established in London.
Well quickly, Worldwide association elects a world Committee. Lord and Baden-Powell Lady as well as the director of the world Office are members of right. Statutes come to supplement the creation of Worldwide association.
Expansion of the movement
Since 1931, the movement guide counted more than 1 million members and in 1932 the first World center opened its doors (" Our chalet" in Switzerland). In 1939, Hungary accommodated the first world camp of guides and girl guides.
After an interruption due to the war and the death of Lord Baden-Powell, the Movement took again its activities in 1945 and continued its expansion.
In spite of the death of her husband, Olave Baden-Powell, Chef Guides world, continues néanmois its tasks within the movement. In 1957, a new center is open: " Nuestra Cabaña" in Mexico then in 1966, " Sangam" in India.
Olave Baden Powell dies in June 1977 and the AMGE undertook the project of the " Center Olave" , dedicated to its memory, which joins together at the same place the world Office (secretariat of the AMGE) and the London World center (" Pax Lodge").
Today, the AMGE gathers associations of guidism and female scouting of 144 countries and represents 10 young woman and young girl million.
Structure
The basic body is the World conference which takes place every 3 years and where all national associations are represented (Only one national association is recognized by country but it can gather several federations in matters linguistics, philosophical or religious different).
The governorship of association is the fact of the World council composed of 17 members including 5 presidents of the Regional conferences .
Management " with the quotidien" of the world Bureau is the fact located at London.
