BioRad is a specialized company in Biotechnologies. The company is based with Hercules, in California in the United States. It was founded in 1957 by David and Alice Schwartz. Its chairman is the son of David Schwartz, Norman.
Structure
Corporate Bio-rad is divided into two principal activities:-
Basic research (Life Group Science or LSG)
- Diagnosis clinical (Clinical Group Diagnosis or CDG)
- an entity of sales (Dirty)
Activity
Bio Rad develops and markets tests and systems of diagnoses intended for the medical analysis laboratories, the centers of blood transfusion and the laboratories of industrial control. N°1 of the management systems of the quality control for the laboratories of medical Biology, the group is leader in the detection of the AIDS, Hepatitises and the autoimmune diseases. With the 9th world rank in the “in vitro” Diagnosis, extremely of 4000 collaborators present in 150 countries.
Subsidiary companies and establishments
Its subsidiary company MJ research is a manufacturer of Thermocycleur S. BioRad produces also Appareils of PCR in real-time. The activity SELDI of Ciphergen was repurchased in January 2007, of which Bio-Rad becomes retailer, ensures the development, the sale, the distribution, and the support for the material (reagents remaining under the cut of Ciphergen).
