A binding is a surgical treatment which consists in tightening a Lien around a Blood-vessel or of a Tumeur; the bond itself. The Catgut is the binding usually employed in Chirurgie.

History

Since 1671 the binding indicates the operation which consists in tightening a Lien for to bandage a Plaie. In 1690 this same term is employed to bind a Blood-vessel or a Tumeur. By Métonymie the binding indicates the bond itself.
