Binche
Binche is a French-speaking city of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut. It is famous for its carnival and its architectural heritage. Binche is located in the area of the Center on the axis connecting the towns of Mons and Charleroi.
History
Old forms: 1124 Bincio . (There exists a form uncommon Dutchwoman Bing .) The city reached its apogee out of economic material and of being able when Belgium was under Spanish domination. Binche was the place of residence of Marie of Hungary, the sister of Charles Quint. She in addition invited Charles-Quint with Binche in 1549 and she, for this occasion, organized splendid festivals. Today, these festivals are known under the name of the Triomphes of Binche. The section of Binche is the chief town of the Binche-native entity which gathers several old communes (Bray, Buvrinnes, Épinois, Leval-Trahegnies, Fibulas-lez-Binche, Ressaix and Waudrez). The old commune of Battignies was attached to Binche since 1881, the others were amalgamated with Binche on January 1st, 1977.
Folklore
the carnival of Binche is most famous of Belgium. Each year, it attracts foreign visitors more and more, in particular thanks to his recognition, in 2003, by UNESCO like belonging to the world heritage as masterpiece of the oral and immaterial Patrimoine of humanity.

The strong castle is adextré of one ecu quartered to the 1 and 4 of gold to the sand lion, armed and lampassé of mouths, with the 2 and 3d' gold with the lion of mouths, armed and lampassé of azure (Hainaut), and sinistral of one ecu money to the sand lion, armed and lampassé of mouths (Binche)” .
By decree of the the French Community of the July 17th 2003, the town of Binche has its own flag, whose reasons come from the old armorial bearings: “white Flag charged with a black lion, claws and the language reds” .

According to the results of the poll, the party UNION, trust made up of the socialist Movement of the burgomaster outgoing Andre Navez, CdH, local party To dare and the independent ones, has 16 seats out of 31. Scandalized, the elected officials of UNION then decide to organize a demonstration each Friday on the Town square of Binche. The first demonstration will gather approximately 1.500 people.
The first town council of new mandature held the December 4th 2006 with the town hall of Binche is held in an electric environment and does the one of the tv news the following day: Marie-Rose Trézegnies is the target of the invectives of a crowd of partisans of the burgomaster outgoing André Navez. This last creates the polemic when he announces that an elected official PS, Philippe Labar, cannot lend oath, since he occupies a post of teacher in this same commune. Labar then decides to give its resignation letter during the meeting, which André Navez refuses, then asking for the expulsion of Labar of the town hall by the police force. The result being of 15 vote on each side, a new town council is held the December 15th 2006 to regulate the situation. This day, the members of new majority PS-MR can from now on lend oath: Laurent Soothsayer (PS), elected PS having gained the greatest number of voices in front of Marie Arena, becomes burgomaster of Binche.
