Characteristics of the archipelago

On the Bimini islands, many places are famous mysterious being. The majority of these mysteries lend to many speculations. Most known of them is Bimini Road.

Bimini Road

Between 1939 and 1940, the American medium Edgar Cayce, in a very detailed prediction, affirmed that remainders of the Atlantis would be found in 1968 or in 1969 front coasts of the Bimini islands. In September 1968, of the blocks of stone aligned on eight hundred meters, called " The Bimini Road" , are discovered with broad of Paradise Point to North Bimini.

After 10 underwater forwardings, started in 1974, the historian David Zink acquired the conviction that these stones are Mégalithe S set up by the man. Gavin Menzies, the author of the book 1421: The Year Clouded Discovered America (1421: The year when China discovered America), think that they could be drawn up by shipwrecked men Chinese.

The Archeologist S William Donato and Greg Little, them, are convinced, after 2 forwardings, that these stones belonged to a culture now disappeared.

Other theories explain why these stone alignments were born from the effect of the tides, or although they are a natural geological formation.

There does not exist any certainty as for knowing at present if these stones are the remainders of a disappeared civilization, the work of shipwrecked men where a geological phenomenon natural, and the question remains whole.

Fountain of Youth

The facts on Juan Sandpapers of León and its research of the Fountain of Youth is as mysterious as the source itself. One does not know who Arawaks or, their ancestors the Indians Taino told their history with Juan Ponce of León. However, the two versions of the history of the natives speak about a country called " Beemeenee" , where the source is supposed to be. While forwarding brought of León in Florida, of the rumors would like that the source can be in the natural swimming pools of South Bimini.

The Healing Hole

The Healing Hole (the hole which cures) was discovered in the salted mangrove which covers North Bimini. It is about a water hollow which is at the end of an underground grid of natural water pipelines. At the time of the low tide, a fresh water, cold and very mineral-bearing is pumped by this network of conduits. This water is rich in Lithium and Soufre, and is famous to have a positive effect on the mental health and physical of the bathers.
