Billy Bremner
Billy Bremner (born with Stirling, Scotland, the December 9th 1942 - deceased with Doncaster, England, the December 7th 1997) was a Scottish Footballeur of the Sixties and seventies.
Small creative medium ground and hooker, it was during fifteen years the emblême English club of Leeds United. He was also the captain starting from 1966. With Leeds, it gained in particular the cut of the towns of fairs in 1968 and 1971, the Championnat of England in 1969 and 1974 and the Coupe of England in 1972.
In 1975, Leeds and Bremner reached the final of the cut of the clubs champions where they were beaten by the Bayern Munich with the Parc of the Princes.
In team of Scotland, Bremner obtained 54 selections and took part in the World cup 1974. On this occasion, Scotland finished unconquered, including vis-a-vis the Brésil, but was eliminated with the first tower with the difference in goals.
After its career of player, Bremner started a career of trainer. After beginnings with Doncaster, it quite naturally became Manager of Leeds starting from 1985 whereas the club had been relegated in second division three years earlier. In 1987, Leeds was with two fingers to go up among the elite and reached the semi-finals of the Coupe of England. Thanked without care in 1988, Bremner then turned over to direct the club of Doncaster.
It is there that it mourrut in 1997, of an heart attack, two days before its fifty-fifth birthday.
He was elected better player of all times of Leeds United.
