Bill Melendez
Bill Melendez is a producer, actor, realizer and American scenario writer born the November 15th 1916 with Hermosillo (Mexico).
Biography
Born in Mexico, Melendez educated in public schools in Douglas (Arizona) and later with Los Angeles with the Chouinard Art Institute (known like California Institute off the Arts).In 1938, Walt Disney employed Melendez to work with the courts and feature-length films animated like Bambi , Fantasia and Dumbo . Three years later, it joined the team of Leon Schlesinger with the studios of Warner Brothers, when, with the units of Bob Clampett and Art Davis, it animated many short films of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. United Productions off America put it in its register to work on several publicities, in addition to the short films of Gerald McBoing Boing and Madeline.
After one decade spent in small houses of production, Melendez founded its own company of production in 1964. Bill Melendez Productions assisted for the setting in scene the special program of Christmas has Charlie Brown Christmas , diffused each year, which gained a Emmy Award and the price George Foster Peabody in spite of deadlines very short times and with a tight budget. Melendez also doubled the yaps and noises emitted by Snoopy, which normally does not speak.
Melendez realized more than 75 special programs, including the mini-series This is America, Charlie Brown , diffused in 1989, in addition to four feature-length films - all with partner Lee Mendelson.
Among the others cartoons animated by Melendez one finds Cathy and Garfield.
In addition to its work of animations, Melendez was member of the body teaching at the department of arts kinematics of the the University of California of the South. Currently, he lives in Los Angeles.
