Bill Laswell

Bill Laswell is a producer and American Bassiste born the February 12th 1955 with Salem (Illinois). It is expressed through Musical genres relatively varied like the Jazz, the Dub, the Drum and low, the Funk, the Rock or the experimental Musique.

Biography

Originating in Strait and orginellement Guitarist, he plays with group of Funk. He leaves for New York in 1978 and becomes assistant in the studio of Martin Bisi. Its first artistic projects are Material (with Martin Bisi, Fred Maher, Robert Quine and Michael Beinhorm) and Massacre (with Fred Frith and Fred Maher) which the album Killing Time leaves in 1980. Its influence as a Musician and producer becomes dominating in the label Celluloïd . It begins its many collaborations ( Golden Palominos , John Zorn, Fred Frith, Elliott Sharp, and on the album of Brian Eno and David Byrne My Life in the Bush off Ghosts . In 1982, it leaves its first album solo Baselines .

It takes part in the recording and the production of the album Future shock of Herbie Hancock (containing famous simple the Rock it ) and works with the DJ Grandmixer DST.
