Bill Anschell

Bill Anschell is a pianist and type-setter of Jazz. Having published three discs of its own original compositions, it is especially known to have played in company of some of the most famous artists of the kind, such Lionel Hampton, Freelon (of which he was the pianist and musical director), Tierney Sutton, Russell Malone, Richard Davis, Russell Gunn, Ron Charretier and much of others. In 2002 Anschell moved of Atlanta towards Seattle, where he plays with local celebrities or of passage. In February 2006, it gained the Golden Ear Award (Earshot Jazz) of the " better instrumentaliste".

Anschell played in many festivals and concerts of jazz all over the world to the head of its own group, the Bill Anschell Trio (with Neal Starkey, Rodney Jordan and Woody William), like as pianist, type-setter and musical director for the vocalist Freelon.

Biography

Anschell grew in the area of Seattle, with the the United States. After its studies at the universities of Oberlin and Wesleyan, where he works the composition with Bill Barron and the Indian rhythmic theory with T. Ranganathon, he leaves graduate music of Wesleyan in 1982. He spends then three years to Madison, Wisconsin, where he works with the famous legendary bass player Richard Davis. Of 1989 with 2002, Anschell lives in Atlanta, working as leader of its group, also accompanying by many musicians, and coordinator for the Southern Arts Federation for the artists of jazz.
