Bilha
Bilha is the name of a biblical character, maidservant of Rachel and third wife of Jacob.
Rachel makes marry its maidservant with Jacob because it cannot give him children. According to other commentators, Bilha and Zilpa were two younger sisters of Lea and Rachel that their father Laban had offered as maidservant to his two oldest daughters at the time of their marriages.
Bilha gives two wire to Jacob: daN and Nephtali whose descent will constitute two of the twelve Tribus of Israel: the Tribe of daN and the Tribe of Nephtali.
According to some Midrach im, Bilha would have had a hybrid relation with the oldest son of Jacob, Ruben (starting from the texts of Gen. 35:22, 49:3,4; and Deut. 21:17). For other commentators, Ruben would have moved the layer of his/her father Jacob (who divided the tent of Rachel until the death of this one), of the tent of Bilha towards that of his/her mother Lea. It is this intervention in the private life of his/her father who would be denounced by the biblical text.
