Bilberry of the marshes
The Bilberry of the marshes ( Vaccinium uliginosum ) also called “orcette”, “bilberry of the marshes”, “blue bilberry” or “embrune”, is a broad sub-shrub from 30 to 80 cm of the family of the Ericaceae .
One finds it in the Tourbière S, the Lande S, the subalpine rock slopes and the wood wet of the mountains circumboréales, between 500 to 3000 m of altitude (generally from 900 to 1800 m).
Description
The Sheet S from 15 to 25 mm length, enough fines to let appear a fine network of veins, are whole, blunt at the top and glaucous.Of May to July, open out flowers of 5 Misters.
The bay S globulous, blue black, resemble bilberries much but their interior is white and not red. Regarded as nonpoisonous, they however cause nauseas when they are consumed in great quantity .
