Bihorel

Bihorel is a common French, located in the department of the Seine-Maritime and the area High-Normandy.

Geography

Located on the northern plate of Rouen, Bihorel is a city comprising three districts:

the Bihorel old man: joined with Rouen with semi-slope as well as the beginning of the plate;
the plate of the Provinces: the district of apartment buildings behind the Bihorel old man;
the Chapter: the residential district more in north.

History

Commune created the April 13rd 1892. Previously, Bihorel was a district of Wood-Guillaume.

Doctor Charon was thus the first mayor of the young commune born of the scission with Wood-Guillaume. Its bust is in the park of the town hall.

One retouve a distribution balanced on the three above mentioned districts:

the Bihorel old man: approximately 3.000 inhabitants;
the plate of the Provinces: approximately 3.000 inhabitants;
the Chapter: approximately 3.000 inhabitants.

Jules Michelet (1798 - 1874) there remained on several occasions.
Charles Nicole (1866 - 1936) there had a house.
Victor Butcher (1896 - 1954), actor, had his parents with Bihorel, tenants of a coffee close to the Three Pipes.
