Bigor
The term bigor is the commonplace name of the soldiers serving in the regiments of Marine artillery of the French Army . Artillerists of navy, then the infantry of the Troops of navy. One sometimes compared them with the American or British bodies Marines . One thus distinguishes the porpoises and the bigors here.
The origin of this term is not obvious: derived from shapes, of Bigorneau, which clings to the bridge to draw; or local expression for another marine animal that the Porpoise.
