Big Hobby-horse
Big Dada is a Independent label of England created by the journalist Will Ashon in 1997. Big Dada is the subdivision “Hip Hop” of the label Ninja Tune. It was created to provide a platform to the hip hop anticonformist and unclassable, little followed media general practitioners or general public. One hears the hip hop there mixed with reggae, rock'n'roll, afro, urban poetry, the pop one… Thus one discovered the combos hip hop/bashment New Flesh (For Old), Lotek Hi-Fi, including all taxes or Gamma, the American poets Mike Ladd or Saul Williams, the superstars such as MF Doom (and its King Geedorah), Hard Abstract and Busdriver (of the collective Project Blowed), the icôn-oclastes of CLOUDDEAD of the Anticon collective. For that it will be necessary to add a sense of smell without fault to flush out the “home-made” stars such as the anglo-Nigerian TY and the prince of the hip hop britton in the person of Roots Manuva. This label does not have a guiding line: it is despite everything a coherence to any test.
