History
The conference is founded in 1979. Its center of principal interest is then the Basket-ball. This option is not contradicted with time and in 2005, five universities join Big East in order to constitute a super league of 16 teams. If the strong point of Big East is the tennis shoe, it is not the case of the American football. Only eight teams take part in the championship of Big East. Notre Dame evolves/moves like equips independent.
