The Saint-Anthony church was built in second half of the 18th century to the site of an older vault, a contemporary martyrdom of the latter is visible beside the current church. The railway line Epinal-Saint-Dié crosses the commune since 1876.The principal event of the commune was without any doubt the battle which took place with the collar of Trapin of the Willows in October 1944. This keen battle is regarded as one of the ten principal battles of the history of the United States, for this reason a table representing the combat which were held in the forests of Biffontaine decorates a wall of the Pentagon in Washington. This tragedy made 16000 wounded or killed (French, German and American confused). This battle will undoubtedly have contributed has to make Hawaii an American state with whole share.
