Biencourt is a municipality in the regional Municipalité of county of the Témiscouata to the Quebec, located in the administrative area of the Low-Saint-Laurent.

The municipality of Biencourt, set up in 1947, is in the homonymous canton, in the south of Rimouski, 57 km in the south-east of Three-Spray. A colony was opened at this place in 1931 with the arrival of some families coming from Our-Lady-of-Lake, Cabano and Saint-Hubert. The founded mission the same year takes the name of the Nativity-of-the-Holy-Virgin and is the subject of an erection in parish in 1946.

Toponymy

The name Biencourt points out the memory of Charles de Biencourt of Saint-Just (1591-1623), baron, vice-admiral of the Acadie and successor of its father, Jean de Biencourt de Poutrincourt and of Saint-Just, at the post of commander of the establishment of Port-Royal (Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia) in 1611.
