Bidart
Bidart is a common French, located in the department of the Yrénées-Atlantiques and the area Aquitaine.
Its Basque name is Bidarte . Bidarte comes from bide (way) and arte (in the medium) and means " in the middle of the ways, with the carrefour"
Its inhabitants is called Bidartars.
Geography
Bidart is small a Seaside resort Basque whose coast constitutes mainly rock cliffs, famous for the visibility of the geological cut Crétacé - tertiary.
It is in Bidart that the small coastal river the Ouhabia is thrown in the the Bay of Biscay.
The Beach of the Center is a spot of ideal surfing for the beginners if the coefficients of the tide are small.

Castle of IlbarritzBuilt between 1895 and 1897 by Gustave Huguenin (Biarrot architect) for the baron Albert of Espée, heir to the foundries of Wendel, in order to shelter largest Organ ever conceived for a private individual (factor Cavaillé-coll), the castle was in the middle of a vast park with factories connected between them by a network of covered ways. The large organ (visible today with the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre) is dismounted in 1903, replaced in 1906 by a second slightly smaller, but more sophisticated (Mutin factor) whom one can currently see in the church of Uzurbil (close to Saint Sebastien - Spain). Sold by the baron after only 4 years of occupation, in 1911, the castle will be transformed into hospital during the First World War, the field parcelled out in 1923, the destroyed or dismounted factories. Convalescent home for the refugees of the war of Spain, German garrison as from 1940 then appendix of farm, degradations and plunderings make rage until 1958 when a partial restoration is committed. Resold in 1986, closed during several years, the castle, although classified in 1990 (roof, frontages, room of organ, large staircase, interior decoration) suffered from its lack of maintenance. A project of restoration of scale is being studied. Private property. Does not visit itself.
