Through an investigation of ground in the city of the Lute, in Genevilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis), the author tries to include/understand “why the left, in fact the municipal left”, committed in a security policy, “did not know or could not recognize the children of immigrants politically”, thus supporting their stigmatization.

Sadri Khiari, For a policy of the rabble. Immigrant, indigenous and young people of suburbs , Textual, 2006. Being inspired in particular by work of Frantz Fanon, the author analyzes discriminations which strike the immigrant populations and tries to define the tension fields of an autonomous movement of the young people of suburbs, that it calls of his wishes.

Leila Shahid, Michel Warschawski & Dominique Vidal, Suburbs, the Middle East and us , Editions of the Workshop, Paris, 2006.
