Bharatiya Janata Party
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP; Left the Indian People) is one of the most important political parties of the India. He is the successor of Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS), party created in 1951 and which was melted in an alliance of opposition parties, the Janata Party, in 1977.
The BJP took its independence in 1980 after strong dissensions within Janata Party.

The BJP is the party leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), alliance of parties which made it possible to the BJP to obtain a majority for the first time at the Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Parlement of India, in 1996. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, leader historical of the party was then named Prime Minister.
In 2004 the NDA and the BJP underwent a cuisante demolished at the time of the general elections which transfer the return of the Parti the Congress to the capacity.
Near to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), organization Hindu nationalist extremist, the BJP was several times marked to maintain intercommunity hatred between Hindus and Moslems. The BJP was however at the origin of the election of the Moslem Abdul Kalam with the presidency of the Republic in 2002.
