Beynac

Beynac ( Beinac in Occitan) is a Commune Frenchwoman, located in the department of the High-Vienna and the area the Limousin.

Geography

History

The name would be of origin Celtic: Bunium (name of anybody) to which the suffix - ac would have been coupled. The origin of the village would be thus a Celtic villa. The commune does not have a castle, nevertheless, a former priest, the Pénicaud Abbot, estimated that with the place known as: " Puytignon" an old seigneurery rose.

Rural district until the years 1970, Beynac gradually becomes suburbs dormitory of the periphery of Limoges.
