Synopsis

Anjali (Kareena Kapoor) is 21 years old and lives in Canada with his/her pious and very plain parents. Those remain faithful to their culture of origin and wish to inculcate their values in their daughter. Anjali has friends among the Indian community present and in particular a boyfriend whom she sees in hiding-place, Rajah (Akshay KUMAR) a musician who would wish to become a star of the rock'n'roll. She regrets to be able to announce this relation to her parents, but knows that they wish to find a more traditional and conventional husband to him, as that of her big sister Aarti (Sushmita SEN) who is pregnant binoculars. Aarti returns visit to his/her parents and decides to on their premises carry out in the long term the last 4 months of its pregnancy, because her husband Aditya (Kapoor Indigo plant), very occupied by his business, often left and only leaves it.

Aarti and Anjali have a very accessory relation, and Anjali speaks with his/her sister freely about her love for Rajah… She presents it to him and everyone gets along very well. The day of the Anjali childbirth is charged to go to recover his/her Aditya brother-in-law with the airport. Arrived at the hospital, they learn with consternation that Aarti died in layer, but that his/her two little girls survived. The parents of Anjali then propose to him to marry Aditya, by respect of the traditions. In memory of his/her sister and in front of the affection which it feels for the two children, Anjali accepts and leaves thus Canada to settle at Aditya, in New Delhi (special mention for the colossal house, divine!)

Three years pass… Aditya always lives in the memory of his wife, and although Anjali makes very to resemble Aarti, it does not recover from its pain and even its good will reproaches him.

Aditya decides all the same in front of the distress of Anjali to change attitude radically and to be devoted more to its family. But front, it has a last business trip in Germany and does not inform him of its project, wishing to keep the surprise for its return. But Anjali is full with rancour towards him, more especially as it had very hard words in its opposition (it said to him that it would never equalize her sister). Whereas they separate with the airport, it entraperçoit in the escalator… Rajah…!!! He became a star adulated… They have a short conversation during which Rajah reproaches Anjali for having been unfair ( bewafaa ) by leaving it three years before without explanations… They go back nevertheless together in the greatest secrecy (nan they do not sleep reassure you) and must use of various stratagems not to get caught. Rajah would like that Anjali leaves all and settles with him, but it is divided between its duty and its feelings… Moreover, Aditya changed completely meanwhile and became a father and an attentive husband…

But one day the antipathetic woman of one of the friends of Aditya discovers the clandestine connection which links Rajah and Anjali… it threatens all to reveal and makes him open allusions in public… More than ever Anjali is driven back vis-a-vis the existential dilemma of its life and must quickly choose an exit…
