The commune of Bettembourg is one of the 116 communes of the Grand-Duché of Luxembourg in the canton of the Esch-on-Alzette, close to the French border .

The rise of Bettembourg is started in 1859 by the construction of the first railway line between Luxembourg and Thionville.
