Ibrahim Agboola Gambari is a diplomat Nigerian born in 1944.
Holder of a license of the London School off Economics with a specialization in international relations, as well as control and a doctorate in international relations of the University Columbia with New York, Ibrahim A. Gambari was teaching between 1969 with 1989 in several American university (City University of New York, SUNY with Albany in the State of New York, Georgetown University, Howard University with Washington) and with the Nigeria ( Université of Ahmadu Bello to Zaria, Kaduna).
Diplomat, Ibrahim A. Gambari was permanent representative of Nigeria near the the United Nations. He chaired twice the Safety advice of the United Nations and chaired the special Committee of the United Nations against the Apartheid.
Former Foreign Minister of Nigeria, he was special representative of the General secretary and Chef of the Mission of observation of the United Nations in Angola (MONUA) between September 2002 and February 2003, then to advise for Africa of Kofi Annan, General secretary of the United Nations before being named by him in June 2005 the Assistant general secretary with the Département of the political matters of the United Nations.
