Beth Gibbons
English singer born with Exeter the July 4th 1965. She grows in the family farm, then at 22 years decides to be established with Bristol. In 1991, it meets there Geoff Barrow in the waiting room of the local agency of work. Sharing the same passion of the music, they decide to create Portishead, with 2 other musicians, Adrian Utley and Dave MacDonald.
After two albums studio ( Dummy in 1994, then Portishead in 1997) and live ( Roseland NYC Live in 1998) with Portishead, it leaves in 2002 Out off season in collaboration with Paul Webb (alias Rustin-Man), ex-bass player of Talk Talk. With this album, Beth Gibbons operated a turn rather Folk, enough far from the Trip-hop of Portishead. By the depth and the inimitable feeling of Beth Gibbons, as much as by the richness and the subtlety of the instrumental parts which composes the album, Out off Season is placed among major works of the pop music of these twenty last years.
