Bertrand Solet
Bertrand Solet (of his true name Bertrand Soletchnik) was born in Paris in 1933. He was chief of the service of documentation in an important business firm. He wrote many books for teenagers. Some have an intrigue related to historical realities.
Biography, summary of the life of Bertrand Solet: Bertrand Solet was born in 1933 in Paris, and comes from a family of Russian emigrants. To the beginning of the war of 1939-1945, it followed his parents in midday, in zone known as free. During this period, it caught a disease which one knew badly at the time and which one looked after badly: the poliomyelitis. It is during this period of disease that he says to have devoured many books of the surrounding libraries. After the war, it was found orphan, raised and looked after by an aunt. Wanting to express its ideas, it prepared the entry of a cinematographic university, but the arrival in mass of the American cinema failed to cost the life the French cinema and Bertrand due to change orientation. After some tests in journalism, it entered a company of international business and became responsible for the economic service of documentation, a work which made it much travel It is during this time that it met his wife: Monique. Fruits of this union, three boys were born (Alain, Patrick and Denis). In their telling stories the evenings of holidays, he thought of making books of them and started to write, a true passion!! His/her 7 small children (Cyrille, Lucille, Cynthia, Nicolas, Florine, Mickaël and Elsa) were pleased, in their turn, to listen to its stories the evenings of holidays in the attic of the country house. As he always thought that the History can bring a lighting on the current life, he wrote many historical books. He likes also the novels known as of topicality which cover subjects which are due to him in heart like racism, immigration, the life of the Tziganes, the collections of traditional tales etc… By counting the republications, it more than 120 pounds listed at the National library, often translated there into several languages, but from others still will leave. He received many prices: Price Jean Macé of the League of Teaching, Grand Prix of young readers (P.E.E.P.), price youth of Dié-of-Vosges Saint, price of the summer of the book in Metz, Price Fetkann 2006, etc… He is member of the Company of the Men of letters, member of the House of the Writers, member of the Charter of the Authors and Illustrateurs for youth.
