Bertrand Goldschmidt

Bertrand Goldschmidt is a French chemist born with Paris in 1912 and died the June 11th 2002. It is recruited at the Institute of Radium in 1933 by Marie Curie. It obtains its doctorate in 1940.

During the Second world war, it takes part in the American nuclear project. He works then on the program Canadian English (Groupe of Montreal) with the Canada. He turns over in France in 1946.

He is one of the creators of the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique in 1946. He directs the department of Chemistry until 1960. He is the author of many works on the history of the development of nuclear energy.

He is the French representative in the Office of the Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency of 1958 to 1980.
