Works

Bertrand Boysset is primarily known as author of a chronicle, sometimes called Livre of reason or Mémoires , on Arles at the end of the Middle Ages. He is also the author of various works written at the same time in French, Latin and of Provence such as: Romance of Arles , Life of Saint Trophime , Life of Holy Madeleine as well as a treaty of illustrated land surveying.

Its chronicle is of several interests: on the event-driven life of the city, on the policy of Provence and the Great Schism seen of a city close to the papacy of Avignon. It also informs us about the life of a city in low Moyen-âge, prone to the calamities of the time, but turned towards the exploitation of its territory.
