Berthe of Burgundy (964 - 1010) is the girl of Conrad III of Burgundy known as the Pacific and of Mathilde, girl of the king Louis IV of Overseas. She marries in first weddings the count Eudes Ier of Blois and of Chartres, to which she gives three children. But the king of France, Robert II the Piles, éprend of it and repudiates his first wife, Rozala of Provence much older than him.

With died of Eudes, in March 996, Robert II wants to marry it, but his/her father Hugues Capet opposes it due to consanguinity. With died of this last, in October 996, the two lovers marry. The pope will excommunira Robert II, which pushes this last (in addition to impossibility of having children with Berthe) to marry Constance of Arles in order to ensure its descent.
