Berri-UQAM

Berri-UQAM is a station of correspondence of the subway of Montreal, allowing correspondences between the lines yellow, green and orange.

It is about the central station of the subway.

History

It was at this station that the official unveiling of the subway of Montreal took place on October 14th, 1966 in Quebec.

Origin of the name

The Berri-UQAM station bears the street name Berri, on which it is, and of the Université from Quebec in Montreal (UQÀM), that the station serves.

The name of origin of the station was Berri-with-Montigny and this until January 1st, 1988 in Quebec. Some people continue to use this name in conversation; however, one more often refers to this station by the name Berri .
