Bernhard Siegfried Albinus

Bernhard Siegfried Albinus (born the February 24th 1697 with Frankfurt-on-the Oder - died the September 9th 1770 with Leyde) was a Médecin and German Anatomiste of the 18th century.
Biography
Bernhard Siegfried Albinus was born with Frankfurt-on-the Oder, where his/her father Bernhard Albinus (1653 - 1721) was professor of medicine. In 1702, the family moves with Leyde, where the father has just obtained the pulpit of medicine of the Université of Leyde, that it will preserve until his death in 1721.
Bernhard Siegfried studies at the university of Leyde of the 12 years age. In 1718, it goes to Paris, to study the Anatomie and the Botanique near Sebastien Vaillant. After one year, it turns over to Leyde where he becomes reader of anatomy and Chirurgie.
In 1721, Bernhard Siegfried Albinus succeeds his/her father with the pulpit of anatomy of the Université of Leyde.
In 1745, he becomes professor of medicine, and his/her brother Frederick Bernhard (1715 - 1778) succeeds to him the pulpit of anatomy. His/her brothers Frederick Bernhard and Christian Bernhard (1700 - 1752) were also recognized scientists.
Bernhard Siegfried was twice vice-chancellor of the university of Leyde. It is in this city that he dies the September 9th 1770, at the 73 years age.
