Bernard of Rochefoucauld

Bernard of Rochefoucauld, born in 1901 and engineer of formation is the grandson of the last Marchioness of Versainville, born Grandin of Eprevier. He belongs to the Maison of Rochefoucauld and is the third wire of the count Pierre of Rochefoucauld, duke of the Rock-Guyon and Gildippe of Versainville. It is him which, with died his/her grandmother, inherits the Château of Versainville where he lived already the essence of his time, ensuring the material administration of the property.

Mayor of Versainville, he was an active member of the Résistance to Falaise and his surroundings within the Prosper network.

Stopped in Paris on denunciation, at the beginning of the summer 1943, the count Bernard of Rochefoucauld dies on June 4th, 1944 with the camp of deportation of Flossenbürg. Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, it will be decorated on a purely posthumous basis with the medal with resistance. His second wife, Yvonne Seersucker, married in September 1939, is also stopped under similar conditions and undergoes all the pangs of the captivity until the release of the camps by the allies.

It gave its name to a Cliff street.
