Bernard of Italy

Bernard of Italy , born towards 797, dead the April 17th 818, was king of Lombards of 813 with 817. Grandson of Charlemagne, it was wire (illegitimate) of Pépin, king of Lombards, and Chrothais.
As of the death of his father, it was intended to become king of Lombard, but Charlemagne waited until it was fifteen years old before sending it to control Italy, in 812, and granted to him royal dignity in April 813. It reigned however under the supervision of the grandson of Charles Martel, Adalhard, cousin and former tutor of his father and probably close relative of his mother.
To died of Charlemagne, it lends homage to the new emperor, his uncle Louis the Piles. In July 817, this last, under the influence of the entourage of the empress Ermengarde, withdraws the government of Italy to him as well as the royal title.
Bernard revolted in December 817, but without success, and goes to Châlon-sur-saône to request forgiveness from the emperor. He is transferred to Aachen and is condemned to death. The emperor the gracia, but ordered that it is plugged; Bernard died two days later of the continuations of the torment.
Marriage and child
He had married towards 813 Cunégonde. The filiation of the latter is not known, but its name was brought closer to that of the wife of Guillaume de Gellone, also named Cunégonde and mother of Héribert, first name which appears then in the descent of Bernard. Chronologically the wife of Bernard would be grand-daughter of Guillaume de Gellone and Cunégonde.Bernard and Cunégonde had at least:
