Bernard Zehrfuss
Bernard Louis Zehrfuss , born with Angers the October 20th 1911 and dead the July 3rd 1996, is a Architecte French.
Biography
Resulting from a family taken refuge of Alsace in 1870, his/her father is killed in 1914 at the time of the Bataille of the Marne. He enters to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the fine arts as of the 18 years age the workshop of Emmanuel Pontremoli and obtains from First large Prix of Rome in 1939 for a project of " palate of the colonial empire français".
The war prevents it from accomplishing its stay with the Villa Médicis. After a course stay in Nice, it becomes assistant in the workshop that Eugene Beaudouin installed with Marseilles. It animates in parallel a group of brought together artists with Oppède in the Vaucluse. It made there the meeting in particular of Consuelo de Saint-Exupéry. He obtains one leave-pass for Spain then engages in the free French Forces.
Arrived at Algiers, it is sent to Tunis and becomes director of the service of architecture of the public Work management of the protectorate of 1943 to 1948. He exerts in addition with Algiers where he builds multifamily apartments, until 1953.
Architect as a chief of the civil buildings and the national palates in 1956, he is general inspector of 1965 to 1968. He carries out a certain number of prestigious programs such as the Palate of UNESCO or CNIT. However, its 2 projects of installation of the new sector of Defense in 1958 and 1960 are abandoned in 1971. It also built many buildings of social habitat, in particular of the Haut of the hare which overhang Nancy.
In 1983, it is elected member of the Académie of the Art schools, of which he becomes the perpetual secretary in 1994, while succeeding Marcel Landowski.
