Bernard Pousset

Bernard Pousset is a French politician, born the November 10th 1950 with Diou (Indre).

Married and father of a child, Bernard Pousset carried out studies of agricultural accountancy. Is 23 years old, it takes again the family cereal exploitation as well as a wine sector on zone AOC of Reuilly.

Elected with the Room of Agriculture of Indre since 1983, it deals with installation and becomes vice-president in 1989. President of SAFER of the area Centers of 1989 to 1997, it is also president of the public corporation of agricultural training of Chateauroux.

While continuing his agricultural activity, Bernard Pousset engages as a policy, elected official successively city council man (1989-1995) then mayor (1995-2001) of Diou. Between 1995 and 2001, he is also president of the SITCOM of the Berrichonne Champagne.

Substitute as of 1993 for Nicolas Forissier (Appointed - Mayor of Châtre), it succeeds to him on May 1st, 2004 following the nomination of this one as Secretary of State to Agriculture, the Food, Fishing and the rural Businesses.

To the National Assembly, it belongs to the UMP group, and is Member of the Commission of the cultural, family and social affairs.

Candidate in 2007 in the third district of Indre, it is beaten by the outgoing Socialist, Jean-Paul Chanteguet.
