Bernard Pons

Bernard Pons is a French politician, born the July 18th 1926 with Béziers (Herault).
Young deputy, several times minister, it is faithful of Jacques Chirac, as well with the Mairie of Paris, the government, as with the RPR of which it is a time general secretary. He is the president-founder of the Association of the Friends of Jacques Chirac.
In 1986 it attaches its name to the law to encourage the investment in DOM-TOM.
Only deputy of right-hand side elected to the first turn in 1997, after the failure of the outgoing majority, it withdraws national political life in 2002 following the candidature dissenting in his district of Francoise de Panafieu, appointed outgoing RPR of the northern half of the 17th district of Paris and threatened not to be re-elected, and which precedes it with the first turn (40% for her compared with 20% for him). He remains adviser UMP of Paris until 2008.
