Bernard Edwards , born the October 31st 1952, North Carolina and dead the April 18th 1996, Japan is a American Bassiste . He was with Nile Rodgers a great name of the disco music/funk at the end of the Années 1970 while playing in the group Chic.

Biography

One must in Bernard Edwards a true revival of low in the music funk/pop With his group Chic the low is not relegated more like accessory but formed integral part of the music, largely proposed in duet with the play of guitar of Nile Rodgers.

In 1985, it founded and produces the group Power Station. This group, playing on a mixture of Funk and Hard rock, included/understood John and Andy Taylor of Duran Duran, Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson (beater of Knack). The group composed two notorious pieces, Some like it hot and Get it one . A second album of Power Station will be born in 1996.

In 1989, it founded and produces the group Distance rock'n'roll including/understanding Robert Hart singer, Tony Thompson with the battery, Eddy Martinez with the guitar, Jeff Bova with the keyboards and itself with low. The group will leave the album Under the one sky .

The April 18th 1996, following a Smart concert live of to the Japan which will give place to CD Chic Live At the Budokan , Bernard Edwards succumbed of a Pneumonie.
