Berloz

Berloz (in Walloon ) (Berlô decides) is a common French-speaking of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Liege.

At January 1st 2006, the locality counted 2780 inhabitants.

Located in Hesbaye, surrounded by the fields, Berloz is the smallest commune of the district of Waremme (1449ha), it primarily rural and was born from the fusion of the villages from Berloz, Corswarem, Rosoux-Crenwick in 1977.

Before 1963 and the layout of the linguistic border a whole part of the commune was Flemish (in particular the village of Corswarem). Although the commune is French-speaking a small minority (elderly primarily) always speaks Dutch especially in the district about Hasselbroek and Rosoux-Station (Roost-Station).

It is often believed that Berloz belonged to the commune of Waremme, because of its small size, owing to the fact that there is not large thing in the village and of its proximity with the town of Waremme, but it is indeed a commune with whole share.
