Beretta M12
The machine pistol Beretta Modèle 12 was designed by Italian engineer Domenico Salza in 1959. It equipped the Italian Armée as from 1961 to replace the Beretta 38/42. It comprises a cylindrical carcass containing the gun and the telescopic cylinder head. The ATS arming lever is on the left. This PM is one of the rare models to be provided with two pistol grips (like the Thompson framing the charger (inserted vertically). M12 have is a stick wood (which will disappear quickly) that is to say a folding metal stick on the right-sided. The handlebar is adjustable in drift and of rise. The rise is tilting (100/200 m).
It is manufactured under license in Brazil ( Taurus MT12 provided with a gun slightly longer) and in Indonesia for the account of armies of these countries. It moreover was exported in Africa, Asia and Europe. In 1978, Beretta modifies it by equipping it with a single order selector/safety (separate on the original) and markets it under the name of Beretta M12S (also manufactured under license by FN Herstal). In 1988, it is improved one second time at the request of the National police force which adopts it like Beretta 12SD and the fact of producing by the FARMHOUSE.
This weapon was used by the Algerian police force during nearly twenty years, before starting in 2004 to be replaced by MP5 of H&K more reliable but also less expensive.
