The Berber Encyclopédie is a Encyclopédie launched in 1984, under the aegis of the International counsel of the Philosophy and the Social sciences of UNESCO. This work, published with the Edisud editions, is a work of collaboration of scientific specialists to the international level.

The aim in view by this encyclopedia is to treat all the topics relating to the populations berbérophones. Work also is essential like a world reference in this field.

Gabriel Camps directed the drafting of the Berber Encyclopedia in its provisional form starting from 1972. Since its death in 2002, the encyclopedia - according to its wish - is continued and directed by Salem Chaker, Professor of language Berbère with INALCO with Paris. Salem Chaker is one of the first collaborators to have associated Préhistorien S, protohistoriens, Linguiste S, Ethnologue S, specialists in Littérature and Géographe S.
