Beppu

Beppu (別府市; - shi) is a city of the Japan located in the Préfecture of Oita on the island of Kyushu.

In 2005, the city had a population of 126.854 inhabitants and a density of 1013,78 hab/km ². Total surface area of the east city of 125,13 km ².

History

The city was founded on April 1st 1924.

Hot sources

The city is famous in all Japan for its onsen (hot sources). One finds approximately 3000 in the city of them what is worth the statute of " to him; the most geothermic city of the monde" (of smoke plane permanently with the top of the city). These hot sources make city a destination of choice in Japan. Moreover onsen are not the only asset of the city which is also very close to the mountain and the sea.
