Works

  • the Novel of Enéas , French poem a.c. (1160 - 1170), allotted to the author. But this one, applicant to translate Virgile, curtails or even removes the great subjects of the Enéide and imagines between Enée and Lavinie a history of love, pretext of a completely foreign episode of two thousand worms to the principal action. This novel was taken again and translated freely by a German poet, Henri de Veldeke.
  • the Novel of Troy (1160 - 1170) dedicated to Aliénor of Aquitaine and probably financed by it. This novel is the principal work treating of the Trojan War with the Moyen-âge. It takes as a starting point translations in Latin of Homère dating from 3rd and 4th century, from which it deviates in particular to follow Darès de Phrygie and Dictys of Crete. This poem was published, with a Étude , by Aristide Jolly (in-4, 1870) and in 1904-1912 by Lépopold Constans ().
