Benoit Tremsal
Benoit Tremsal is an artist Franco-Allemand plastics technician born in 1952 in the Vosges (F). He lives and works close to Bonn/Cologne in Germany. Its last intervention on the French soil was the in September 2007 realization of important a " garden of artiste" on the Place of the Vosges with Epinal.
Work
After many years of practice of the drawing, painting and performance in a circle close to the Actionnisme Viennese in particular Otto Muehl, Tremsal specialized with the beginning of the year 1990 in a form of landscape sculpture which finds its roots as much in the American Earthworks of years 1970 that in the Minimalisme. The principal characteristics of these works are: the renouncement of verticality, concept of implant (work falls under the landscape as much as this one in work), of the standard geometrical forms. Tremsal realized since many large-sized sculptures in all Europe.
